Tsuut’ina Development Authority (TDA)

Our Commitment at TDA, we are dedicated to upholding the highest standards of compliance throughout every stage of our growth. Our mission is to ensure that all developments align with regulatory requirements and community expectations, fostering a foundation of integrity and trust.  Our vision is to continue building a self-sustainable future, creating long-term economic and environmental resilience for generations to come.  Guided by our core values, we prioritize the best interests of the Tsuut'ina Nation and the Taza Community. Every decision we make is rooted in respect, collaboration, and a commitment to the prosperity of our people.

The Tsuut'ina Development Authority (TDA) was established in 2018 under the directive of the Head Chief and Minor Chiefs to oversee all construction activities within the Taza Development. TDA ensures compliance with Taza Infrastructure Standards and Specifications for all engineering, planning, and construction projects, as well as public operations and maintenance.

Through the TDA approval process, the Taza Development Corporation submits development and building permits, safeguarding the Nation's interests and ensuring developers, contractors, engineers, and tenants adhere to the required standards.

Taza

Taza is the result of an innovative partnership between Tsuut’ina Nation and Canderel (Taza Development Corporation), creating one of North America's largest First Nations-led developments. Master-planned to honor Indigenous culture, embrace sustainability, and pioneer forward-thinking solutions, Taza reflects the vision and values of Tsuut’ina Nation.

Spanning approximately 75,000 acres with a shared border along southwest Calgary, Tsuut’ina Nation covers an area roughly 10 by 30 kilometers. As an independent community, it is governed by a Chief and Council, managing all aspects of its administration, business, and social services. This includes their own Tosguna (police), fire, and development authority departments.

Through Taza, Tsuut’ina Nation is setting a new standard for community-driven development.
